CU Sports Medicine and Performance Center
57 years old, 29 years spent doing sports massage and bodywork on everyone from NFL players, Olympic Hurdlers, to weekend warriors, I still love what I do. To be involved with a crew like you are putting together to help people get on their ponies and ride like the wind across the USA at 25 miles an hour, that’s living!
Graduated from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry am currently applying for emergency medicine residency. I’m currently on a gap year between medical school and residency during which during I am working for Dr. Ingebretson at the University of Utah teaching the Advance Wilderness Life Support class and developing wilderness medicine core content for his textbook and website. During medical school, I had experience in Emergency Medicine, a Wilderness Medicine elective, and I also spent two months in Peru in the remote backcountry working as part of the medical team responsible for a group of scientists researching glacial melting. As an avid outdoorsman, I’ve used my medical skills many times over the years in routine as well as serious accidents in mountaineering and paragliding where c-spine clearing/stabilization was required.
